Multi-Disciplinary Project Data

Multi-Disciplinary Project Data provides the administrator with Controlled Object Revisioning (COR) functionality.

Controlled Object Revisioning is used to control when and if users are alerted to changes to objects made by disciplines other than their own. When such changes are made, and the objects are released via status control, a notification is sent to any users that have subscribed to that object. Users may then decide if and when to adopt the change for their own discipline.

In order to use COR, a project must be set up correctly in AVEVA Administration. Refer to Multi-Disciplinary Project Data for further information.

For a full explanation of the structure of a Dictionary database refer Lexicon Database for further information.

LEXICON is used to define the data model when using AVEVA Engineering, User Defined Element Types (UDETs) based on ENGITE and XPITEM element types are created. It is assumed that the creation and use of these element types is considered during their creation to make sure that teams have the ability to create and issue the data they need to control. Data for a single tagged item is usually required to be spread across multiple databases, as different disciplines modify different data for the tagged item.

The COR functionality allows the user to create a revision configuration and a hierarchy at the same time:

  • Revision Configuration World (REVCWL)

  • Revision Configuration Group (REVCGP)

  • Version Control Configuration (VERCON)

  • Revision Number Definition (REVNOD)

  • Revision Block Definition (REVBLD)

  • Revision Control Configuration (REVCON)
