Split Branch

Splits the piping network system upstream or downstream at a centerline point or at the intersection of a centerline and inline component.

On the P&ID tab, in the Pipeline group, click Split Branch.

The prompt Select split position is displayed.

Click to identify the centerline point or intersection of the centerline and inline component. The Create window displays.

Upstream

A piping network system and piping network segment are created upstream of the centerline point or intersection of the centerline and inline component.

Downstream

A piping network system and piping network segment are created downstream of the centerline point or intersection of the centerline and inline component.

The created piping network system and piping network segment display on the P&ID Explorer.

Attribute Propagation

By default, the following attribute values are propagated from the original piping network system and piping network segment to the created piping network system and piping network segment.

• Bore

• Number

• Pipeline Fluid Specification

• Pipeline Insulation Specification

• Pipeline Specification

• Pipeline Tracing Specification

  Note:
  Only non unique attributes are propagated to the created piping network system and piping network segment, unique attributes are not populated.
