Work Area

By default, the Lexicon - AVEVA Administration window is displayed with the Home tab selected. The main parts of the Lexicon - AVEVA Administration window are:

Title Bar

The title bar of the module window, displays the quick access toolbar and the name of the current project.

Quick Access Toolbar

Options on the tabs and the project menu can be added to the quick access toolbar for convenient access. Some commands are located here by default. The default location of this toolbar is above the tabs to the left of the title bar, but it can moved below them if required.

Overall Project functionality

Accessed from the Project tab, the displayed fluent UI provides access to a number of key commands and facilities.

Graphical View

Accessed from the Tools tab. Displays the dictionary explorer, current element editor, database editor, graphical view, command window and claim lists.

Dictionary Explorer

Accessed from the Tools tab. Provides an easy-to-use, graphical method of exploring the dictionary database.

Message Log Window

Displays the user and system messages created by the application including alerts and errors.

Command Window

Accessed from the Tools tab. Used for executing standard commands and Programmable Macro Language (PML) functions.

Lexicon Tabs

Most commands, facilities and utilities of Lexicon are accessed from these tabs: Home, Tools, Manage and Engineering.
