Terminal Arrangement

Use the Terminal Arrangement window to create and edit a library of terminal arrangements.

Associated Class

Specifies the class of equipment that the terminal arrangement will be used for. The ... control opens the Associated Class window, used to select the class.

Name

Specifies the display name of a new terminal arrangement.

Description

Specifies a description of a the terminal arrangement.

Number of Terminals

Specifies the number of Top, Bottom. Left and Right terminals that the terminal arrangement has (at least 1 terminal must be specified in one of these fields).

Updates the display in the Preview area as the numbers of terminals are entered.

Power Attributes

If appropriate for the selected equipment class, used to specify the power attributes of the terminal selected in the Preview area, namely:

  • Core Type,

  • Phase Identifier Set (not active if Core Type "GC" is selected),

  • Phase ID,

  • Core Markings,

  • Cable Power Flow (select "To" or "From"),

  • Core Marking, and

  • Terminal Type.

Allow use on project

Specifies whether or not the terminal arrangement is to be available for use in the project.

Preview

The preview area specifies the internal connections, signal orders, and the plugs/sockets of the terminal arrangement.

It initially displays a picture of some terminal arrangements. It updates to display a representation of the terminal arrangement as terminal numbers are specified in the Number of Terminals fields, and as internal connections, signal orders, channel numbers, and the plugs/sockets are defined.

Terminal fields on the preview image are used to specify terminal identifiers.

Left-click on terminal fields while pressing Ctrl to select them. Multiple fields may be selected at the same time.

Plug/Socket Pin View

If the arrangement includes any plugs or sockets, the preview image changes to display details of the assigned plugs and sockets.

Fields and controls not relevant to this view and not available on the window when this view is displayed. The other fields and controls work in the same way.

Terminal Arrangement View

Changes the preview image back to the terminal arrangement view from the Plugs/Sockets Pin view.

Internal Connection +

Makes an internal connection between two terminals with markings selected on the preview image, or between two plugs or sockets in the Plugs/Sockets Pin view:

The terminals at each end of a connection are highlighted in yellow if the mouse cursor is hovered over it:

Internal Connection -

Removes an internal connection between two terminals selected on the preview image, or between two plugs or sockets in the Plugs/Sockets Pin view.

Signal Order +

If a terminal or terminals are selected, displays the Signal Order window.

The preview image updates to reflect the entered values:

Terminals with signal order numbers defined are colour coded. Terminals with the same numbers are coded with the same colour, as are terminals with the same combination of signal number and channel number:

Signal Order -

Removes the signal order numbers of terminals selected on the preview image.

Channel Number +

If a terminal or terminals are selected, displays the Channel Number window.

The preview image updates to reflect the entered numbers (prefixed with "Chnl"):

Terminals with channel numbers defined are colour coded. Terminals with the same numbers are coded with the same colour, as are terminals with the same combination of signal number and channel number.

Channel Number -

Removes the channel numbers of terminals selected on the preview image.

Plug/Socket +

If a terminal or terminals without internal connections or signal order numbers is selected, displays the Select Plug and Socket window.

The preview image updates to reflect the selected plug or socket. Any terminal identifiers in the selected terminals are replaced by the name of the plug or socket.

Removes the plug or socket from terminals selected on the preview image.
