Add Instruments

Instruments, for example, indicators or controllers, are added to the drawing canvas by dragging from the Symbol Palette, P&ID Explorer or directly from the grid.

Instruments can be placed directly on the drawing canvas or connected to signal lines or process instrument connection lines.

Connected Items

The connected line value indicates the process instrument connection lines or signal lines that are connected to an instrument.

The control loop assignments value indicates the instrument loops that are associated with an instrument.

Click ... to display the Piping connections window.

The process equipment value indicates the equipment items that are associated with an instrument.

The process line connection value indicates the process lines that are associated with an instrument. The expanded values indicate the associated piping network system, piping network segment and centerline.

The related instruments value indicates the instruments that are associated with an instrument.

To display the first instrument connection/association attributes, select the instrument on the drawing canvas.

Open the Attributes window and navigate to the Connected Line, Control Loop Assignments, Process Equipment, Process Line Connection or Related Instruments attribute.
