Note: When Active Directory is set to ON, project users are authenticated against their Windows user accounts. The exception is that any user who knows the project free user name and password can still enter this to gain access to the project.
With Active Directory on, the AD Configuration button is added to the Admin Elements group on the Manage tab.

To create an Active Directory User, click AD Configuration and then click Create.
The Active Directory User Creation window is displayed.

The Authenticated Users list show the users selected for Active Directory from the Project Users list.
Use the left and right arrows at the right of the Project User list to move users to and from the Authenticated Users list.
To specify a default users for Active Directory, select the user in the Authenticated Users and the select the user from the Default User drop-down list.
You can use a Domain Group instead of individual Active Directory users.
Select Group, enter a valid Active Directory Group and click Check. If found, a confirmation message is displayed.

If the specified user is not found, this message is displayed.

When an E3D application is logged into, the current user and their group membership are validated against any Active Directory User or Active Directory Group. If the logged in windows user and/or their group memberships matches one or more of these entries, a drop-down list is populated with all aggregated valid users for that login.
Note: For the default user, an active directory user takes precedence over an active directory group.
