Location of the Daemon

We recommend that the daemon is run on the file server, thus reducing the risk of it being accidentally stopped by a user, which could result in missed updates.

The Global daemon can be run as a background service. This allows the program to persist after a user logs out; and to start automatically when a machine is restarted. When the daemon is run as a service, it must be run on the file server.
