Paste Objects

Various methods are available to paste objects onto the drawing canvas that have been copied to the clipboard.
Paste New
Use the functionality to paste a new object from the clipboard to a specified position on the drawing canvas. A new engineering item is created.
Paste Duplicate
Use the functionality to paste a new object from the clipboard to a specified position on the drawing canvas. A new engineering item is created and populated with the attributes of the copied engineering item.
Note:
When pasting a P&ID engineering item using the paste duplicate command, the new engineering
item is not populated with the unique attributes of the copied engineering item. For
example, piping connection, piping network segment, piping network system and inline
items. The new engineering item is populated with the non-unique attributes of the
copied engineering item.
The from and to attributes are updated for new piping connection, piping network segment
and piping network system engineering items.
Paste Graphics
Use the functionality to paste a new object from the clipboard to a specified position on the drawing canvas. The new object is associated with the copied engineering item, a new engineering item is not created.
Paste Objects
When pasting objects using the Paste New, Paste Duplicate or Paste Graphics commands, the functionality is identical.
On the Drawings tab, in the Modify group, select Paste and select New, Duplicate or Graphics from the dropdown menu.
The prompt Specify point for Paste New/Duplicate/Graphics or is displayed.
Input values in the dimension fields and press Enter or click to identify the base point relative to which the objects are pasted.
The objects are pasted to the identified position from the clipboard and the command ends automatically.
Press ESC to cancel the command. Additional functionality is also available.
