Use the P&ID attributes for inline items to define the orientation of inline items on P&ID Drawings. The functionality is available for symbols decorated with an inline item class. For example, a globe valve or a chemical seal.

Automatic orientation
Select No from the drop-down list to ignore the flow direction of the piping network system when positioning the inline item.
Select Yes from the drop-down list to automatically position the inline item according to the flow direction of the piping network system.
Note:
The inlet and outlet connection points must be set to orientate the inline item automatically
according to the flow direction.
Click Edit to display the Select points window.

Use the Select points window to specify the inlet and outlet connection points on the inline item. The inlet and outlet connection points are used to orientate the inline item to the inlet and outlet flow when added to the drawing canvas.
Note:
Set the Reflectable property of the SYTM element to Yes to enable automatic orientation switching of the symbol template. For example, when
the flow of the piping network segment is reversed.

Arrow Heads
Select Yes from the drop-down list to display arrow heads on split centerlines at the end of the piping network segment when the inline item is added to the drawing canvas.
Select No from the drop-down list to omit arrow heads from split centerlines at the end of the piping network segment when the inline item is added to the drawing canvas.
Note:
The attribute setting only affects the display of arrow heads at the end of the piping
network segment. The piping network segment must be connected to a class that is decorated
as an inline item or nozzle. The display of all other arrow heads is defined by the
P&ID advanced settings.
Note:
The functionality is not available for piping network segments defined with dual flow
arrow heads.
The example displays a 3 way connected inline component and a 4 way connected inline component. The arrow heads attribute is set to No for the 3 way in line connected component. The arrow heads attribute is set to Yes for the 4 way in line connected component.
