Upgrade Framework

The upgrade process will put an upgrade number in databases, indicating the level to which they have been upgraded. This will make it easy to detect on opening whether a database has or has not been upgraded. This upgrade number will also be used by the Reconfigure.

Part upgrades outside the Framework:

• Are independent of all other non-framework upgrades (that means, non-framework upgrades can be applied in any order

• Have a method of determining whether or not they have been applied, not relying on the upgrade number

  • This to be available to the user

It will not be possible to backtrack to pre-upgrade sessions.
