Assign Instrument to Instrument

The currently selected instrument on the drawing canvas can be associated with other instruments.

On the P&ID tab, in the Assign group, click Instrument and select to Instrument from the drop-down menu.

The prompt Select target instrument for association is displayed.

Click to identify the target instruments to be associated with the instrument. The instrument is associated with the target instruments.

Note:
If an invalid item is selected on the drawing canvas, an error message is displayed summarizing the problem.

If the instrument is already associated with an instrument, the Association window is displayed.

Select the Append radio button to add the instrument association and retain the existing instrument associations.

Select the Replace radio button to add the instrument association and remove the existing instrument associations.

The related instruments value indicates the instruments associated with an instrument.

To display the related instruments attribute, select the instrument on the drawing canvas.

Open the Attributes window and navigate to the Related Instruments attribute.
