Nozzles are added to the drawing canvas by dragging from the Symbol Palette, P&ID Explorer or directly from the grid.

Nozzles can be positioned directly onto an equipment item on the drawing canvas. For example, nozzles can be added to pressure vessels or pumps. Nozzles can also be positioned directly onto the drawing canvas and associated with an equipment item.

Note:
If an owning equipment item is deleted, all associated nozzles are deleted.

If the nozzle is positioned directly on the drawing canvas, the prompt Select parent equipment is displayed.

Note:
If the nozzle is positioned inside the equipment boundary, the prompt does not display and the nozzle is associated with the owning equipment item.

Click to identify an existing equipment item, the created nozzle is associated with the selected equipment item.

Connected Items

Nozzles can be connected to equipment items and centerlines.

The nozzle first connected and nozzle second connected values indicate the items that are connected to a nozzle.

To display the nozzle first connected and nozzle second connected attributes, select the nozzle on the drawing canvas.

Open the Attributes window and navigate to the Nozzle First Connected or Nozzle Second Connected attribute.

The piping network segment reference to nozzle and piping network system reference to nozzle values indicate the piping network segment and piping network system connected to a nozzle.

To display the piping network segment reference to nozzle and piping network system reference to nozzle attributes, select the nozzle on the drawing canvas.

Open the Attributes window and navigate to the Piping Network Segment reference to Nozzle or Piping Network System reference to Nozzle attribute.

Cascade Properties

The cascade properties value can be used to propagate the Bore attribute from a centerline to a connected nozzle.

To modify the nozzle cascade attribute, select the nozzle on the drawing canvas.

Open the Attributes window and navigate to the CascadeProperties attribute.

Select True to allow the propagation of the attributes from the centerline to the nozzle when modified, select False to leave the nozzle attributes unchanged when the centerline properties are modified. The default value is specified using the P&ID Advanced Settings in the Configuration module.

Refer to to Symbol Palette, P&ID Explorer and Advanced Settings for further information.
