Create Referenced Drawing

Creates a new drawing that is associated with an original drawing. The referenced drawing can be modified independently of the original drawing. Changes made to the original drawing are automatically propagated to the referenced drawing when it is opened.

To create a referenced drawing, select the original drawing on the Drawings Explorer, right-click and select Create Referenced Drawing from the drop-down menu. Refer to Drawings Explorer for further information.

A new drawing is created. Both the original drawing and referenced drawing display in the Referenced drawings folder of the Drawings Explorer.

The created referenced drawing is an exact copy of the original drawing.

Changes made to items on a referenced drawing can be reverted to the state of the original drawing by deleting an attribute value. Refer to Attributes for further information.
