Create Intelligent Text Formulas

Builds intelligent text formulas for quick labels in the Engineer module, and for symbol text and connector attributes in the Configuration module.
You can use formulas to display values from owner, member and connected objects in the conceptual model using associations, inverse associations, attributes and object types.
To create an intelligent text formula for a quick label on a drawing in the Engineer module:

Select the required quick label on the drawing canvas.

Right-click to display the PowerWheel™.

Select the Annotate tile.

Select the Formula Assistant tile to display the Intelligent Text Formula Assistant window.
Alternatively, to create an intelligent text formula for symbol text in the Configuration module:

Select the required symbol text on the drawing canvas.

Right-click to display the PowerWheel™.

Select the Annotate tile.

Select the Formula Assistant tile to display the Intelligent Text Formula Assistant window.
Alternatively, to create an intelligent text formula for connector attributes in the Configuration module:

Open the Attributes window for the currently selected connector on the Setup Explorer.

Click Browse adjacent to the Start, Middle or End field to display the Intelligent Text Formula Assistant window.

The Intelligent Text Formula Assistant window uses progressive disclosure to to build the intelligent text formula.
You can filter the available items for selection by association, inverse association or attributes.
The general workflow to build an intelligent text formula is:

Double click the mouse to select an association or inverse association.

Double click the mouse to select a class.

Double click the mouse to select an attribute.

Select additional associations or attributes for the class

Select Insert to build the intelligent text formula.
