Name

Input a value in the field to modify the name. By default, all member names are modified to reflect the new name.

Description

Input a value in the field to modify the description.

Function

Input a value in the field to modify the function.

Purpose

Input a value in the field to modify the purpose.

Lock

Input a value in the field to modify the lock status.

Input True in the field to lock the section for modification.

Input False in the field to unlock the section for modification.

Specification

Classification

Input a value in the field or select a classification from the drop-down list to modify the section classification.

Reference

Displays the specification reference of the section which is populated from the Spec, Type and Profile fields.

Spec

Input a value in the field or select a specification from the drop-down list to modify the section specification.

When a specification is selected, the type and profile drop-down lists are populated with the components that were used when the specification was most recently selected.

Type

Input a value in the field or select a type from the drop-down list to modify the section type.

The type drop-down list is populated with the section types that are associated with the currently selected specification.

Profile

Input a value in the field or select a profile from the drop-down list to modify the section profile.

The profile drop-down list is populated with the section types that are associated with the currently selected specification.

Material

Input a value in the field or select a material from the drop-down list to modify the section material.

The material ref drop-down list is populated with the materials that are associated with the currently selected specification.

Justification

Input a value in the field or select a justification from the drop-down list to modify the section justification.

For example, select CTOP from the drop-down list to trim the element to the centre top Pline.

The justification drop-down list is populated with the justification options that are associated with the currently selected profile.

Memberline

Input a value in the field or select a justification from the drop-down list to modify the justification leaving the member line.

This sets which GENSEC P-Line is additionally displayed on a drawing as a Memberline line type in the Draw module.

Note:
In the Draw module, the Memberline representation style can be configured in the Style Library (RPLB) element. When a drawing with steelwork is created, an additional line is displayed on a GENSEC, which is determined by the Memberline property, and styled accordingly.

Parameters

Click to view the design parameters of the section.

Preferred specification

Allows you to view the preferred specification status of the currently selected section.

True indicates that the section is a preferred specification.

False indicates that the section is not a preferred specification.

Positional

Beta angle

Input an angular value in the field or select a rotation angle from the drop-down list to modify the beta angle of the section.

Position

Input dimensional values in the field to explicitly modify the position of the section. The section is repositioned.

Orientation

Input values in the field to modify the direction of the X, Y and Z axis.

Start position

Input dimensional values in the field to explicitly modify the start point of the section.

End position

Input dimensional values in the field to explicitly modify the end point of the section.

Mirror

Input a value in the field to modify the mirror status.

Input True in the field to define the section as mirrored from the position in which it was created.

Input False in the field to define section as not mirrored.

Design

Start joint

Displays the name of the owning section to which the start joint is attached.

End joint

Displays the name of the owning section to which the end joint is attached.

Start cut

Displays the direction of the start cut.

End cut

Displays the direction of the end cut.
