Specifications

This topic describes supplied HVAC specifications and requirements for specification components. HVAC specifications are very similar to piping specifications.

Specified components

The following specifications are supplied by AVEVA in the master ACP project:

SIMDUCT C

Sim Duct class C spiral wound circular ducting

/SIMDUCT-CLASS-C

SIMDUCT F

Sim Duct class F spiral wound circular ducting

/SIMDUCT-CLASS-F

AVEVA RECTANGULAR

A sample AVEVA specification of rectangular ducting components

/AVEVA_RECT

AVEVA OVAL

A sample AVEVA specification of oval ducting components

/AVEVA_OVAL

Custom components

The custom specification AVEVAHVACSPEC is supplied for user driven parameterized components and it is not intended to be modified by the customer. This specification is not a fixed specification and does not use the same set of required headings used in this document. It is therefore not suitable to be modified using the application.

General requirements

Similar to piping specifications, HVAC specifications have required specification headings to ensure the application and selected components are compatible.

When specifications are automatically populated from a reference data category in the HVAC Specification form, a set of default headings will automatically be created for new Specification Blocks. Headings can also be be manually added or removed.

The following table shows the required headings in the specification:

Property

Description

PSHA

Duct shape, RECT, CIRC or OVAL.

PWID

Duct width, diameter for circular components.

PHEI

Duct height. For circular components this is set to 0.

Note:
In AVEVA Catalog - the POINTS for pHeight, pWidth (for circular). The PDShape must currently be set using the Attributes window (if it is not in the Catalog window).

Requirements for inconsistent arrive and leave conditions

When multiple sizes or shapes are present in a single component, numbered headings (with qualifiers) must be used.

For example, a rectangular to circular transformation includes the headings shown below, with different shape and dimensions for the arrive and leave ends .

The following table shows how form values are stored in the specification:

TYPE

PSHA1

PWID1

PHEI1

PSHA2

PWID2

PHEI2

CIRC

Requirements for subcomponents

For subcomponent elements, the required specification headings are related to the component that will be owning the subcomponent.

The following table shows the required headings for subcomponents:

Property

Description

OSHAP

Owner shape

OWID

Owner width

OHEI

Owner height

If the sub component is allowed to be on any size of owning component, then Owner Width and Owner Height are set to '0mm'. An example of this is the AVEVA delivered Rectangular HVAC Branch Connector (HVBRCO) as shown below.

The Specific Type column

The Specific Type column is not mandatory. It is typically used to supply a different answer for the selector. Depending on the complexity of the specification block it may or may not be necessary to include the Specific Type column.

An example of this is the TAPE specification block for the AVEVA supplied /SIMDUCT-CLASS-C specification. The Specific Type column is used to differentiate between the Concentric and Eccentric Tapers.

Three-way components

Three-way (THRE) components use the following conversions:

• Duct Width1 & Duct Height1 correspond to the Arrive of the Component (P1)

• Duct Width2 & Duct Height2 correspond to the Leave of the Component (P2)

• Duct Width3 & Duct Height3 correspond to the Offline Connection of the Component (P3)

Note:
In some instances, the above recommendations are not followed by the AVEVA supplied rectangular specifications. Do not refer to the AVEVA supplied specifications as a template for how to set up the customer specifications. The legacy AVEVA Custom Specs also do not follow these recommendations.
