Grid Ruler

A grid ruler is used to show grid positions along one axis of the grid system (REFGRD). It works similarly to the grid ruler available in 2D drawings, but it is designed for the 3D View. The grid ruler is shown as a ruler line parallel to the axis it represents, with ticks indicating the grid positions along the axis:

Long ticks are labeled with their axis positions. Short ticks are unlabeled but still indicate positions on the axis.

When a Grid Ruler is created, a new Grid Ruler element, GRDRLR, is placed in the database. It follows these rules in priority order:

  • Under the active work surface (if defined).

  • Under the current zone in Hull Design.

  • In the current RULGRO, ZONE or SITE. If there is no RULGRO in the ZONE or SITE, a new one is created.
