In the Handle Changes screen, these change tracking options are enabled by default:
-
Geometry
Entities, which are identified from their unique grids, are replaced by the latest geometries of the model being imported. New entities in the model being imported are imported but are not part of the Import/Replace process, because they were not present in the model being replaced. -
There are three options to track the measurable changes - Centre of Gravity, Bounding Box, Surface Area
-
If you want to track the changes from version 1 to version 2 file including the updated dimension values you have the option to select the Measurable change.
-
If you select one or all the three selected and the log type is set to full, the measuring option details are logged with the dimensions.
-
Positions
The positions, but not the orientation, of the IFC entities identified for replacement are compared with those of the model being imported. -
Properties
Property sets and Simple properties of the IFC entities identified for replacement are compared with those of the model being imported.

These options control deletion of objects:
-
Delete all existing objects missing in new import file
This option is selected by default. This option deletes all DB elements (mapped to IFC entities) that exist in the existing model but which do not exist in the model being imported. -
Select missing objects to delete
This option launches the Deletion Handler grid form when the import of the IFC model is complete.Note:
If Import/Replace is enabled and if you use raw command syntax ,or IFCImportOBj, then all existing objects that are missing from the model being imported are deleted.
