The Mining solution uses GENSECs to create conveyor belts. With GENSECS, the belt shape can be extruded along a SPINE, which can be linear or curved. FIXING elements are created to represent the idlers supporting the belt. You can use standard modeling elements, such as CIE, to move the idlers.
A consequence of the use of GENSECs and FIXING elements is that there must be a catalog of standard profiles (SPRF elements), and a catalog of standard fittings (SFIT elements) for the idlers.
In the ACP project, a sample set of belts and idlers, in both metric and imperial is provided.
Because GENSEC and FIXING elements are primarily used in the structural application, the catalog elements are created and managed in the STRUCTURES discipline in Paragon.
For an explanation of the settings required to set up the catalog and specifications for the Mining application, refer to the Catalogs and Specifications documentation.
