The IFC Import User Interface (IFC Import) enables the processing of .IFC files in AVEVA Unified Engineering (UE).
Note
It is also possible to import IFC files with MultiCAD Import functionality, but in
most cases IFC Import is recommended.
In previous releases IFC Import has used the traditional UE element hierarchy , using a mixture of EQUI, STRU and VOLM to represent different categories of IFC element, and the secondary hierarchy of GPSET to represent the IFC spatial hierarchy and other groupings from the IFC model. UE now allows nested subequipment (for example, a subequipment element owning another subequipment element) and this is now used by IFC Import to represent the IFC hierarchy.
On the Interfaces tab from the Import group, click IFC and select Standard to display the Source window. Refer to Source to continue with the import.

Note:
Backward compatibility of models is supported and is available for selection as Upgrade. If you want to upgrade from the old hierarchy to use SUBE of SUBE hierarchy, refer
to Import Upgrade for further information.
