Catalog components for rollers

Rollers are modeled as SFIT fittings in the catalog.

Hierarchy of catalog folders for rollers CATA is parent, STSE is its child. STCA folders are children of STSE

To view a roller profile, select it or its parent STCA or CATA in the Catalogue Explorer. Then click Catalog in the Modify group on the Catalogue tab.

DTSE - Data Set

Click Data Set in the Model References pane. The Data References pane is displayed.

These KEY words are used in the application:

  • DIAM - Diameter of the roller.
    Calculated from the belt path and set automatically in the application.

  • OSEC- Owning section.
    Reference must be set to a flat belt SPRF

    Important: Do not change the key words.

PTSE - Point Set

Click Point Set in the Model References pane. The Point Set References pane is displayed.

To ensure that the roller cylinder is positioned on the underside of the belt, the origin (P0) must be on the surface of the roller cylinder.

GMSE - Geometry Set

Click +ve Geometry or -ve Geometry in the Model References pane. The Geometry References pane is displayed.

In this example, the geometry has one cylinder. The most important setting are the distance to the top and to the bottom of the cylinder. These are obtained from the owning belt.

Category

Click Category in the Model References pane. The Model View is displayed.

Only one roller is supplied. You can create additional rollers. You must set the GTYP to ROLL.
