Directing Commands to the Data Server

In order to direct any command line from Query to a data server, prefix the line with the word:

EXTERnal

The remaining part of the line may comprise either:

• A command to create a connection between Query and the data server.

• A command sequence for reading from or writing to the data server.

The prefix is incorporated into all commands described in the remainder of this section.
