Representation Tab

The Representation tab of the Graphics Settings Drawlist window allows you to set some of the general and piping representation parameters and presents control options allowing you to display further windows for specifying the representations of more specific parameters.

The general and piping Representation parameters are:

Tube

Select Tube check box to display double line representation of piping components.

Centreline

Select Centreline check box to display single line representation of piping components.

Holes Drawn

Select Holes Drawn check box to display holes (negative primitives) as true holes, rather than as black lines in a shaded view.

Flange Bolt Holes Drawn

Select Flange Bolt Holes Drawn check box to display bolt holes drawn on flanges.

Tracing

Select Tracing check box to display tracing.

Insulation Visibility/Translucency

If selected, Insulation Visibility/Translucency is displayed on the piping components and tubing, as defined in the catalog. Click on the drop-down menu to specify a level of translucency between 0% (Off) and 100% (Solid).

Obstruction Visibility/ Translucency

If selected, Obstruction Visibility/Translucency volumes are displayed, as defined in the catalog (but only if the drawing level is set appropriately). Click on the drop-down menu to specify a level of translucency between 0% (Off) and 100% (Solid).

Level

Separate drawing levels can be set for each of the following categories. In each case, enter the required level (which must be in the range 1-99) into the corresponding text box:

  • Pipe sets the drawing level for piping items

  • Nozzle sets the drawing level for equipment nozzles

  • Structure sets the drawing level for steel work items

  • Others sets the drawing level for any item not separately specified

  • Mass used in calculating mass properties.

  • Cable sets the drawing level for cable elements.

To make sure the correct TCTL (True CuT Length) value on SCTN elements with negative geometry taken into account, you must set the Mass representation level to 6 before querying the True Cut Length, assuming level 6 is used to represent detail geometry in the structural steel catalog.

Arc Tolerance

Defines the tolerance within which arcs must be drawn. To change the tolerance, edit the number in the text box.

Click Representation Rules to display the Representation Rules window.
