Integrator configuration configures pipes and components to match with corresponding P&ID elements.
Integrator configuration
On the Piping tab, in the Settings group, select Integrator to display the Search criteria configuration window.
The window has four tabs, General, Pipe/Branch, Branch member, Advanced and Drawings.

General
Display name
In the Conceptual Model, Display name lists which P&ID attributes can store tag names. The selected attribute is used to extract names for P&ID items when matching and comparing.

Pipe/Branch
The Pipe/Branch allows you to map attributes from the Piping Network System decoration type in P&ID to the PIPE in AVEVA E3D Design.
Pipe/Branch has two matching methods - Name-to-name match and Attribute-to-name match. Name to name match is displayed by default.

Name to name match
The name of the selected pipe and its branch members in AVEVA E3D Design. are matched against the P&ID element based on the Display name attribute selected from the General tab.
At the Pipe level, the Name-to-name match method searches for and identifies matching P&ID elements decorated as a Piping Network System, along with corresponding matched components, decorated as Piping Components. P&ID results are verified by checking the matched tag elements, ensuring they belong to the correct Piping Network System.
There are three options for Name-to-name match - Exact’, Containing’ or ‘Trimmed.
Exact
This method compares the PIPE name, with no forward slash, against the selected Display name string for the P&ID elements decorated as a Piping Network System, to find a match.
Containing
This method works in a similar way to Exact, except that it takes the Display name string for the P&ID items and checks to see if it exists within the PIPE name.
Trimmed
This method takes the characters from the trimmed characters input, and removes them from the AVEVA E3D Design. and P&ID elements names, and then searches for a name match from the new strings.
Note:
In all cases, logically deleted P&ID items (Excel equals TRUE) are ignored when matching.
There is currently no comparison of branch elements.
Attribute-to-name match

This process allows the user to define key attributes related to the Piping Network System decoration type. For each P&ID item, the attribute is queried and converted to a string. The system checks to see if all the strings appear in the PIPE name. It then searches and displays results of :PipingNetworkSystem elements with selected attribute values which are the same as the selected AVEVA E3D Design Pipe attribute values.
Note:
Between two and five attributes can be selected for matching.
Attributes should be selected to provide the best chance of a unique match. For example
Fluid Code and Sequence Number could be a minimum.
Attribute matching
The default Naming delimiter in Attribute matching, is a hyphen (`-`), and only a single character can be used as the delimiter.
The delimiter character is considered in three contexts.
-
A starting string, for example. 100-
-
A mid string, for example, -100-
-
An end string, for example, -100
Attribute comparison
Attribute comparison allows the user to map attributes from the Piping Network System decoration type to the PIPE. The P&ID attribute dropdown list displays all the attributes and associated attributes of the Piping Network System decoration type. The dropdown list of E3D attribute are the attributes and associated attributes of the E3D PIPE.
Select Compare to compare the selected attributes.
Select Allow update to allow the user to update the E3D attribute values after comparison.

Note:
Users can add an attribute from the dropdown list and select Active for matching to make it a valid selection.
If less than two, or more than five attributes are selected for comparison, the Apply button is disabled.
There is no relationship between P&ID attributes and AVEVA E3D Design attributes when
matching.
The Apply button is enabled when you select Attribute-to-name match and a selection of attributes.
Branch member
The Branch member tab has configuration options to match and compare branch members against the P&ID components in AVEVA Engineering. It provides Name-to-name match at a component level and uses Name-to-name match and Attribute comparison for matching and comparison of components.
Note:
The Name-to-Name process operates identically to that used for Pipes, except it applies the Piping Component decoration type from P&ID rather than the Piping Network System.

Component Map
The Advanced tab can be used to compare component types. It enables you to add, modify and delete mappings between AVEVA E3D Design piping components and AVEVA Engineering P&ID classes. When any selected AVEVA E3D Design element type is mapped against any P&ID engineering class from the dropdown list of classes, the AVEVA E3D Design element ‘type’ is considered as the mapped engineering class. It is not listed as a difference in value for type/actype. For example, when the Actuated Valve class from the Conceptual Model is mapped to the INST type in AVEVA E3D Design, but the Actuated Valve is represented by a VALV element, a type comparison results in a data error.
.

-
Add new mapping
-
Modify existing mapping
-
Delete mapping

-
Add class element to the mapping list.
-
Remove class element from the mapping list.
-
Remove all class elements from mapping list.
Note:
An error is not flagged if nothing is mapped.
There is a limited number of types in AVEVA E3D Design to compare to the many list
of classes in engineering. Only valve, instrument, flange, reducer, cap and filter
can be mapped.
The engineering classes drop-down list displays all classes that are decorated as
Piping Components.
When an AVEVA E3D Design element is mapped against a P&ID engineering class from the
dropdown list of classes, the AVEVA E3D Design element type is deemed as a mapped
engineering class and not listed as a difference in value for Type/Actype.
Drawings Tab
Highlight is used to locate selected P&ID elements displayed in the Integrator Results window
There are two highlights - Standard and Advanced.
Standard highlighting
When Standard highlighting is selected, P&ID elements are highlighted in a color selected from the dropdown list.

Advanced highlighting
Advanced highlighting highlights P&ID elements based on their status.

There are four choices:
-
Data matches - All matching elements are highlighted in a color selected from the data matches color dropdown list.
-
Data Errors - If matched elements have differences, the elements are highlighted in a color selected from the data errors color dropdown list.
-
Missing item -If piping Components are not listed as matching component in the Components tab for the matched PipingNetworkSystem in the Integrator Results window, they will be set to missing and highlighted in the color defined in the Missing item color drop-down list.
-
Non-comparable - This is for items that cannot be compared in a color selected from the non-comparable color dropdown list. All the connection elements in the P&ID drawings are highlighted with the color option set in this field.
