Gates

The Modify Handrail Components window allows you to modify the gate components for the handrail. The Gates tab is populated with a list of all the gates which are used for handrails, along with other details.

Click to select the required gate from the list of available gates.

The selected gate is also displayed in the 3D view.

From the Details part of the Modify Handrail Components window, you can modify the Specification, Justification and Horizontal Offset of the gate.

From the Spec drop-down list, select the specification from the displayed list, the gate is modified to reflect the change in specification. For example - the gate becomes a shallow narrow gate or a chain.

To modify the horizontal offset of the gate element, click Modify Properties to display the Modify Properties window.

Input the horizontal offset into the Horizontal Offset field or use the 3D view, click Measure Horizontal Offset, the Positioning Control window displays, you are prompted to Measure property dimension start (Distance [0]Snap):. Once the selection has been made, you are prompted to Measure property dimension end (Distance [0] Snap):

To modify the connected element reference for the component, click Pick Gate Connection Element.

You are prompted to Pick connection element for selected items:

Pick a connection element in the 3D view.

Valid elements for connection are:

• GENSEC

• PANE

• WALL

• GWALL

• CTWALL

• STWALL

• FLOOR

The currently connected element is highlighted red in the 3D view.

From the Justify drop-down list, select a justification from the displayed list.

Click OK to commit to the changes.

Click Default to return the horizontal offset back to the default.

Click Reset to return the horizontal offset back to its original position.

Click Cancel to discard any inputs and close the Modify Properties window.
