Validation Checks

  • Last UpdatedSep 27, 2023
  • 5 minute read

The Properties tab displays the status of validation checks for the currently selected elements in the Flexible Explorer.

All validation checks are calculated when the Connection Review window is opened, and the results are not stored in the database. If modifications are made, use Refresh to run the validation checks again.

The Properties tab displays the status of each validation check.

Some validation checks only occur if conditions are met. For example, the weld check for panels only occurs if welds are included in the panel. The checks for all elements are:

GENSECs

End Connections

Checks the validity of the start and end connections. Both ends of the section should be connected, either via a fixing or an endatum.

Both ends connected.

One end disconnected.

Both ends disconnected.

Panels

Weld Check

Checks the welds in the panel are aligned with the automatic weld placement algorithm (if welds are included).

Weld placement is aligned with the algorithm.

Welds are not placed in alignment with the algorithm.

Bounded Plates

Health Check

Checks that bounded plates are valid according to the bounded plate health checker.

Bounded plates are valid.

Bounded plates do not align with the current boundary conditions.

Bounded plates have missing elements or invalid references in the structural connection set.

Weld Check

The functionality is identical to the panels weld check.

Catalog Joints

Connection Check

Checks that the CREF attribute of the fixing is set to a valid GENSEC or SCTN.

Connection reference is valid.

Connection reference is invalid, unset or not set to a GENSEC or SCTN element.

Catalog Weld Check

Checks that any welds in the STWSET for this fixing align with the JWELD definition in the catalog (If welds are included).

Welds align with catalog definition.

Welds have different positions compared to the catalog definition.

Invalid references, or a different number of welds found compared to the catalog definition.

Template Joints

Connection Check

The functionality is identical to the catalog joints connection check.

Template Rule Check

Checks the template parameters and primitive elements are correct when compared with the template definition.

All template rules are valid and aligned with expected values.

Some attributes of template elements differ from expected rule values. Specific attributes are indicated in the property grid description box.

Panel Fittings

Template Rule Check

The functionality is identical to the template joints template rule check (if fitting is a template).

Catalog Weld Check

The functionality is identical to the catalog joints catalog weld check (if fitting is not a template and welds are included).

GENSEC Fittings

Currently no checks available.

Welds

Detail Check

Checks the Structural Weld Detail Reference (STWDTR) attribute is set to a valid weld detail.

STWDTR attribute is valid.

STWDTR attribute is unset.

STWDTR attribute is invalid.

Connection Check

Checks welds have two valid references in the Structural Weld Reference Array (STWRFA).

At least two valid elements in the STWRFA attribute.

Less than two references in the array, or duplicate references found.

Invalid connection references in the array.

Handrail Components

Handrail Connection Check

Checks if a handrail component (Post, Termination, Panel or Gate) has a valid connection reference (CONREF).

Connection reference is valid.

Connection reference is unset or invalid.
