Catalog components for pulleys

Pulleys, like idlers, are owned by belts. Therefore, they are modeled as SFIT fittings in the catalog.

To view a pulley profile, select it or its parent STCA or CATA in the Catalogue Explorer. Then click Catalog in the Modify group on the Catalogue tab.

DTSE Data Set
Click Data Set in the Model References pane. The Data References pane is displayed:

These KEY words are used in the application:

DIAM - Diameter of the pulley.
Calculated from the belt path and set automatically in the application. -
PULE- Pulley length
Can be modified in the application. -
SHDI - Shaft diameter.
Can be modified in the application. -
SHLE - Shaft length.
Can be modified in the application. -
OSEC- Owning section.
Reference must be set to a flat belt SPRFImportant: Do not change the key words.
PTSE (Point Set)
Click Point Set in the Model References pane. The Point Set References pane is displayed:

If you define your own rollers in the catalog, you must place the origin (point 0 in the above image) at the top edge.
GMSE - Geometry Set
Click +ve Geometry or -ve Geometry in the Model References pane. The Geometry References pane is displayed.
In this example, the geometry comprises two cylinders which represent the pulley and the shaft. You can modify the geometry to provide more detail if required.

Category
Click Category in the Model References pane.
Only one pulley is supplied. You can create additional pulleys. You must set the GTYP to PULL.
