Derived P-points

From a user perspective, derived p-points are very like ordinary p-points. They can be used to place labels, dimensions and other draw entities by snapping to them in the Draw canvas: they fall under the p-points snap option in DRAW. The only obvious difference when using derived p-points is that they all have a number > 1000.
The reason they are called derived is because they can only be used in the context of a view, not in the standalone model. For instance, derived p-points do not appear in the pseudo attribute listing on the model (like PPVI or PPOS).
Derived p-points are currently available in the context of Location Defined Views when models are drawn with symbolic representation. Refer to Symbolic Representation for further information.
Derived p-points are currently available for GENSECs drawn in the Single Line Representation (SLR) style.
Derived p-points have a position and up to two directions, this facilitates the placement and orientation of a label in relation to the model, for example, when using autolabels. Refer to Autolabels for further information.
