Create Idler

There are existing forms to create a new set of impact idlers and transition idlers. This form allows an individual idler to be created at a particular position anywhere along any of the carry belt or return belt sections.

To create a new idler, on the Mining tab, in the Create group, select Idlers and select Single from the dropdown list.

The section of the belt is highlighted along with the position at which the new idler will be created.

The Belts dropdown allows the user to switch between the belt sections.

Select the required belt section, or select the belt section in the graphics, and select on the CE button.

The list of available idlers is updated depending on which belt section is selected.

Select the required idler.

The position of the idler can be manually entered as a distance from the start of the belt section. Otherwise, the position can be picked using the Pick Position button.

The Create button creates a single idler at the designated position.

The idler is represented by a FIXING owned by a PLDATU and a JLDATU.

The JLDATU is positioned in the hierarchy in order of distance along the belt length.

For carry belts, it is possible to create either a single impact idler or carry idler.

Note:
If an impact idler is created next to other impact idlers, the idler is automatically associated with that set of impact idlers.
If in impact idler is not positioned next to other impact idlers, then the following confirm alert is raised:

The user can then decide whether to create the impact idler on its own, as it will not be associated with any other set of impact idlers.

Note:
If a carry idler is created in between two impact idlers, the following confirm alert is raised:

The user can then decide whether to create carry idler in the impact idler zone. The impact idlers remain as a set and are not split up.

Note:
Two idlers cannot be created in the same position.

Create Impact Idler

If a conveyor has multiple charging points, you can create an impact zone and impact idlers for each. For each impact zone, you can specify:

  • Its length

  • Its starting position

  • The spacing between the impact idlers

  • The distance between the first impact idler and the start of its impact zone

  • The type of idler to create

If there are existing idlers within a new impact zone, you are prompted that they will be deleted.

  1. On the Mining tab, in the Create group, select Idlers and select Impact from the dropdown list to display the Create Impact Idlers window.

  2. Specify values in these fields:

    • Impact zone length

    • Idler spacing

    • Distance from start

  3. From the Idler dropdown list, select the type of idler to create.
Which idlers are available is determined by catalog rules.

  4. Select Pick Position and select the required starting position of the impact zone.
    The position is labeled Charge.

  5. In the Create Impact Idlers window, select Create.

  6. If there are existing idlers in the new impact zone, you a warned that they will be deleted. Select Yes, to accept.
