The Reference Points part of the Create Stair Flight window, with Detail selected, has mostly the same functionality as that available from Layout with the exception of the connections in the Pick Support Element functionality. The functionality is also applicable to the ‘TO’ Reference Point.
Pick Support Element
Use to select a support element (GENSEC) in the 3D view, selecting a support element offsets the stringer so that the stringer top of steel is flush with the top of steel of the support element. It also establishes a connection between the stringers and the support element and for this reason, only GENSEC’s are valid for picking. The support element must be horizontal. Click Pick Support Element, you are prompted to SLH - Stair Flight - Pick FROM Support Element.
Floor Thickness
The Floor thickness is the offset that is automatically calculated when a support is selected and Model offsets the stringer of the stair flight element so that the stringer TOS is flush with the top of the TOS of the selected support element.
Alternatively, without picking a support element, you can input a floor thickness.
Select the Connect check box to establish the connections.

In the structural hierarchy, JLDATU, PLDATU and FIXING elements are created to represent the joints to the GENSEC when the stair flight is built. Refer to Section Connectivity for further information.
TO Reference Point
The functionality available is identical to that in Layout. Refer to Reference Points for further information.
Click Next to display the Stair Configuration part of the Create Stair Flight window. Refer to Stair Configuration for further information.
Click Back to return to the General Attributes part of the Create Stair Flight window.
Click Cancel to discard any inputs and close the Create Stair Flight window.
