Modify Matchlines

The display of matchlines can be defined using the Properties window. Refer to Properties for further information.

Advanced matchlines can be enabled in two ways:

  • Set the ALL text template in the view visual style and then apply the visual style to the view in Representation section of the Properties window.

  • Set the view visual style in ALL text template in the Advanced Matchlines section of the Dynamic Properties.

When advanced matchlines are active, the settings in the matchlines group that are not used are greyed out.

Char height

Select By Style from the drop-down list to inherit the matchline text character height from the view visual style.

Input a value in the field or select from the drop-down list to define the character height of the matchline text.

Matchline color

Select By Style from the drop-down list to inherit the matchline line color from the view visual style.

Select from the drop-down list to define the color of the matchline line. Alternatively, enter an RGB color using the format R 100 G 200 B 255.

Matchline text font

Select By Style from the drop-down list to inherit the matchline text font from the view visual style.

Select from the drop-down list to define the font of the matchline text.

Matchline line type

Select By Style from the drop-down list to inherit the matchline line type from the view visual style.

Select from the drop-down list to define the line type of the matchline.

Matchline text color

Select By Style from the drop-down list to inherit the matchline text color from the view visual style.

Select from the drop-down list to define the color of the matchline text. Alternatively, enter an RGB color using the format R 100 G 200 B 255.

Matchline visibility

Select Yes from the drop-down list to to turn the display of matchlines on.

Select No from the drop-down list to to turn the display of matchlines off.

Sides

Select By Style from the drop-down list to inherit the annotated matchline sides from the view visual style.

Select from the drop-down list to define the annotated matchline sides.

Note:
The functionality is only available for orthogonal views. all sides are always visible on isometric views.

Matchline color

Select By Style from the drop-down list to inherit the matchline line color from the view visual style.

Select from the drop-down list to define the color of the matchline line. Alternatively, enter an RGB color using the format R 100 G 200 B 255.

Matchline line type

Select By Style from the drop-down list to inherit the matchline line type from the view visual style.

Select from the drop-down list to define the line type of the matchline.

Text templates

Select the individual text templates for the left, right, top, bottom and ISO matchlines.

Text distances

Sets the text position, relative to the start point of the view border side. Left, right, top, bottom for orthogonal direction and left, right, topleft, topright bottomright, bottomleft for isometric direction.

Select By Style from the drop-down list to inherit the distance between the text and the matchline from the view visual style.

You can drag the text grip point on the drawing canvas to position the text relative to the start point of the matchline.

Alternatively, enter a value, or select from the drop-down list, to define the distance between the text and the matchline.

The text is positioned relative to the start point of the view border side. Valid values are between 0.0 and 1.0. For example, a value of 0.0 positions the text at the left/top of the matchline.

A value of 1.0 positions the text at the right/bottom of the matchline.

Label style

Select By Style from the drop-down list to inherit the matchline label style from the view visual style.

Select from the drop-down list to define the label style of the matchline.

Text offsets

Sets the text position, using a leader line and offset value, for the left, right, top, bottom and ISO matchlines.

Select Yes from the required Leaderline drop-down list to enable the text offset functionality.

You can drag the text grip point on the drawing canvas to specify the text offset position relative to the start point of the leader line.

Alternatively, enter values in the X and Y fields to specify the text offset position relative to the start point of the leader line.

Select No from the required Leaderline drop-down list to disable the text offset functionality. The values in the X and Y fields are reset to zero.

Note:
Text offsets and text distances are independent from each other. It is possible to set both for each side of a view border.

Matchline elements are saved in a special-purpose layer element under the VIEW element. The layer element is named Matchlines, and the SpPurpose attribute is set to MATCHL.

Advanced matchlines contain 4 STRA elements and 4 SLAB elements for each orthogonal view, or 9 STRA elements and 6 SLAB elements for each isometric view. These elements must not be manually edited, any matchline regeneration results in the loss of manually entered data.
