Node Data

When the structural model is exported from AVEVA E3D Design, nodes are created at GENSEC connections.

In the example, the GENSEC element has two connections and the INODE elements are created at the connection positions. The GENSEC element is subsequently split into three ISECT elements, defined by numbers 63, 64 and 65.

In Staad Pro, new nodes can be added to the model which are not at physical connection positions, but at other positions along the GENSEC element which contains load data. For example, a new node can be created at the center of the GENSEC element. The created node can be given a unique number (99). When imported into AVEVA E3D Design, the GENSEC element is split into four ISECT elements, 63, 64, 65 and a new ISECT element, numbered 99.

Although there is no physical connection at node 99, the node data is retained in the STD file when subsequently exported from AVEVA E3D Design.
