Map Laser Space

Maps the laser data spacial occupancy.

The spatial occupancy hierarchy is optional and is used during clash reports if present. If the occupancy hierarchy is not present, the laser clashing mechanism is used in AVEVA Everything3D version 2.1 and higher. The clash reporting within AVEVA Everything3D tests the clash volume of modelled items and reports the clusters of laser survey data that clash with modelled items.

In Plant Design Management System (PDMS) and AVEVA Everything3D version 1.1 the spatial occupancy hierarchy indicates where the laser survey is broken down into smaller volumes, these volumes are stored in the Database Constructor (DABACON) database. When clashing modelled elements and laser survey data, the clash report indicates the clash between a model element and an item in the spatial occupancy hierarchy.

The spatial occupancy map is required in PDMS and AVEVA Everything3D version 1.1 as part of the clash reporting functionality., AVEVA Everything3D version 2.1 and higher does not use the spatial occupancy map for clash reporting LFM laser models. The spatial occupancy map should only be generated if the laser survey and any clash reports are being used with PDMS. Larger laser surveys take longer to process as the laser survey is subdivided into a series of smaller volumes.
