Adds model elements to selected views.

Note:
The functionality does not modify the scale or limits of the selected views. If the added elements are outside of the current view limits, they will not be visible. However, the view drawlist is updated accordingly and if you adjust the view scale or view limits correctly, the added elements become visible.

The QuickAdd window allows you to highlight the currently selected views and define the model elements that are added to the views.

The QuickAdd window is populated using the currently selected views on the drawing canvas when opened.

Update Form from Current Selection

Click to update the QuickAdd window with the currently selected views on the drawing canvas.

Views can be selected or deselected using a mouse click on the drawing canvas.

Highlight Views

Click and hold the left mouse button to highlight the currently selected views on the drawing canvas. The currently selected views display with a green outline on the drawing canvas.

Views Selected

Displays the number of selected views and the view types. The available view options are:

  • Location Defined

  • Quick View

  • Multi-Location

  • Expansion

  • Mixed type - more than one view type is selected.

Element Selection

The Element Selection tab allows you to define the elements that are added to the views.

Dedicated Owner

By default, all elements of the selected element types are added to the drawlist. Select the Select Dedicated Owner check box to only add elements to the views which are member elements of a picked owning element.

Input an element name in the field or click CE to define the owning element using a selected model element. The model element can be selected using the Model Explorer or the drawing canvas.

Elements

Select the required check boxes to define the element types that are added to the views.

Alternatively, select the All Elements check box to add all element types to the views.

Volume Criteria

The Volume Criteria tab allows you to define the area used to add elements to the views.

Get volume from

Defines the source volume that is used to add elements to the views.

Drawlist

Adds elements to the view using the volume of the current drawlist contents.

View

Adds elements to the views using the volume of the current view limits, if set.

Adds elements to the views using the view contents/view volume, if the view limits are unset.

Model element

Adds elements to the views using the volume of a model element (the Current Element).

User Input

Input dimensional values in the From and To position fields to define the limits of the volume box explicitly. Refer to Coordinates for further information.

The values are stored in the QuickAdd window until Refresh is clicked.

Wholly and partially within

Select the option button to add all elements to the view which are contained wholly and partially within the volume box.

Wholly within

Select the option button to add all elements to the view which are contained wholly within the volume box.

Within shape

Select the option button to add all elements to the view which are contained wholly within the volume of the selected design element.

Note:
The functionality is only available if Model element is the current source volume criteria.

Update Design

Click to clean up and save the drawlist, and update the selected views.

Save Drawlist

Click to clean up and save the drawlist. The views are not updated but can be manually updated at a later time. Refer to Update for further information.
