Create Design Annotations Rule

Creates an Design Annotations Rule (DARULE) at the specified location in the hierarchy.

The Design Annotations Rule Set (DARST) must be selected in the hierarchy to make it the CE.

Input the command:

new darule

It is recommended that you give the DARULE a name that makes its contents obvious to users.

The DARULE attributes can be defined using the Attributes window or the Command Window.

Tmrf

References a symbol template (SYTM/TXTM).

TmrfSecondary

References a secondary symbol template. The secondary template is used when SidMode is set to Below or the readability requires the use of an upside-down symbol. The origin of the first template (Tmrf) is normally in the lower left corner. The origin of the second template (TmrfSecondary) is normally in the upper left corner. For example:

Criteria

Specifies the selection criteria. For example, ALL EQUIPMENT.

Lbstrf

References the label style.

Ltitle

Places created labels on the visual layer with a title.

PosMod

Specifies the label placement mode: PPoint, Pline or attribute.

PosAttribute

References an attribute name or a PML expression. If evaluation of the expression returns a position, the position is used to place the label.

Direction Mode

Places the label using a specified direction. The available options are:

  • Horizontal

  • Vertical

  • Pline

  • Attribute

DirAttribute

If Direction Mode is set to Attribute, this holds the attribute name or a PML expression. If evaluation of the expression returns a direction (vector), it is used as the placement direction for the label.

SidMode

Places the label on a specific side of the element. The available options are:

  • Above

  • Below

  • Attribute

SidAttribute

If SidMode is set to Attribute, this holds the attribute name or a PML expression. If evaluation of the expression returns a direction (vector), it is used to move the label accordingly.

Pkey

Specifies the Pline name (HSTIFF is typically referenced as NA).

Pkdistance

Specifies the Pline offset distance.

Xyposition WRT Owner

Specifies the offset distance from the insertion point or Pline wrt the owning element.

Lleader

Turns leader lines on or off for generated labels.

Note:
The Lleader check box must be selected to reposition labels using the label placement functionality. Refer to Label Placement for further information.
