Customization Example

This example uses the configuration described in User Interface Customization in Unified Engineering to add a group to the E3D ribbon and a button that launches the Flexible Explorer.

  1. Click the wrench icon on the ribbon.

  2. In the Customize window, select MyExample from the Active Customization File list.

  3. In the Customize window, expand Ribbon. Right-click Tabs and select New Tab.

  4. Select the new tab. In the Caption field, overwrite the default caption with your required caption and click Apply.

  5. Right-click the new tab and select New Group.

  6. Click the New State button.

  7. In the Command field, select Aveva.ShowFlexibleExplorerCommand. In the Caption field, specify a label for the button.

  8. Drag the new button to the new group and drop it when the new group is underlined:
    Newly created state button is highlighted at the right. On the left the new tab is expanded to show the new group. The new group is underlined.

  9. Click Apply then click OK.
