Modify Work Area

A work area represents a portion of the 3D model considered to be a logical area of work. It can be defined by geographical limits, for example, a volume, or by other parameters such as process systems, arbitrary collections of model elements, specific selected elements, or a combination of these.
Work areas can use the volumes of any suitable model elements in their definition. Where space management is implemented on the project, work areas can reference spaces to take advantage of their more complex capabilities to define spatial limits.
Use the Modify Work Area window to manage the content of a work area.

Name
Specifies the name of the work area.
Space Reference
If space management is implemented on the project, the drop-down list displays the spaces that are available for selection as a basis for the work area content.
A work area can have multiple dynamic collections and a single specific item list.
Dynamic Collections
Dynamic collections are defined by expressions such as items within a specified volume and are populated dynamically such that their content changes as the project develops.

|
|
Add dynamic collection |
Adds a new dynamic collection row to the grid. |
|
|
Remove dynamic collection |
Removes the currently selected dynamic collection row from the grid. |
|
|
Update selected dynamic collection |
Updates the dynamic collection details into the currently selected grid row. |
Collect Dynamically by
Select from the drop-down list to collect dynamically by Space or Manual.
Note:
Space is not available for selection from the drop-down list if spaces have not been defined
in the project.

Description
If collecting by Manual means, input a description for the dynamic collection.

If collecting by Space, the application uses the currently selected Space Reference, and provides a default description which can be modified.

Expression
If collecting by Manual means, input an expression for the dynamic collection, for example, collect all within the volume of another type.
If collecting by Space, the application uses the currently selected Space Reference, and provides a default expression and volume which can be modified.
Specific Item List
A specific item list is populated by selected items and does not change unless modified, or the items are deleted from the project.

|
|
Add CE |
Adds the currently selected element in the Model Explorer to the specific item list. |
|
|
Remove selected |
Removes the currently selected row from the specific item list. |
Apply
Saves the work area definition to the database.
Reset
Reverts the settings to the currently saved state or last Apply.
Cancel
Discards any changes since the last Apply.
