Create Supports ABA Drawing

Creates supports ABA drawings by selecting the supports to be drawn and the template used. Additional functionality is available to view existing supports ABA drawings and the stored log files that are generated when drawings are created.

The Load Supports drop-down menu allows you to define the available supports for drawing.

CE & Below

Select from the drop-down menu to populate the list of frameworks, hangers, ancillaries and lighting supports with all supports below the current element, including the support the current element belongs to.

All in MDB

Select from the drop-down menu to populate the list of frameworks, hangers, ancillaries and lighting supports with all supports in the current database.

Drawing Registry

Select the drawing registry to write the drawing to.

Click CE to select the current registry element on the Draw Explorer.

Frameworks

Select the framework elements to include on the drawing.

Click CE to select the current element on the drawing canvas or Model Explorer.

Select the All Frames check box to select all of the frameworks in the list.

Hangers

Select the hanger elements to include on the drawing.

Click CE to select the current element on the drawing canvas or Model Explorer.

Select the All Hangers check box to select all of the hangers in the list.

Ancillaries

Select the ancillary elements to include on the drawing.

Click CE to select the current element on the drawing canvas or Model Explorer.

Select the All Ancillaries check box to select all of the ancillaries in the list.

Lighting Supports

Select the lighting support elements to include on the drawing.

Click CE to select the current element on the drawing canvas or Model Explorer.

Select the All Light supports check box to select all of the lighting supports in the list.

Selection Filter

Allows you to restrict the supports that display in the list of frameworks, hangers, ancillaries and lighting supports to names containing given characters. By default, the list displays all elements of the given type, as indicated by the * in the field. The wildcards you can use are:

  • * Any number of any characters

  • ? Single character

A logical expression can be used to filter on any attribute data available on the support. For example:

  • A wildcard string to match by name.

  • *011*

  • An expression to match by a UDA value.

  • (attrib :SafetyRating gt 6)

  • An expression to match by a Status Control value.

  • (attrib STVDSC( /SupportStatus ) eq 'Approved')

Template

Select an ABA template from the drop-down list.

Update

Select the option button to update the design graphics, tagging, and any tasks assigned to the template. No layers are deleted through this process, allowing you to add 2D layer elements if required.

Regenerate

Select the option button to regenerate the design graphics, tagging, and any tasks assigned to the template. The drawing is effectively deleted and re-created. Regenerate can be used if a new drawing is required without additions (for example 2D layers).

Delete

Click to delete the currently selected drawlist.

Existing Drawings

Allows you to view existing drawings. Click to display the ABA Browse Sheets window. Refer to ABA Browse Sheets for further information.

Stored LogFiles

Allows you to view the run time logfiles. Click to display the File Browser window. Refer to File Browser for further information.

Detail Sheets

Select the check box to create steelwork shop detail drawings.

Click Apply to create individual supports ABA drawings for each of the selected supports or Cancel to discard any changes and close the Create Supports Drawing window.

The supports ABA drawings are created.

A drawing is created together with sheet and library elements and displays in the Draw Explorer.
