Create Building by Room Element

To create a new Building by Room element, make sure that a building element is the CE in the Building Applications window.

On the BUILDING tab in the Create group, select Building by Room from the drop-down-list to display the Create Building by Room window.

The application automatically populates the Name field with a name based on the project or company autonaming rules.

The user can change the name by typing a new name in the Name field.

Note:
The name must not already exist.

If the name does not conform with the autonaming rules, Apply will be greyed out as long as the name is not properly entered.

By default, the Use gaps in naming sequence checkbox is selected, the user can select which name is to be used. To select the:

• first available name, click Use first available name

• previous available name, click Use previous name

• next available name, click Use next available name

• last available name, click Use last available name.

From the How it is drawn in DRAFT pane of the Create Building by Room window, the user can control the edge representation of physical model elements in the DRAW module. for further information on the edge representation, refer to Draw.

Note:
The selection of the edge representation sets the value of the Dunion attribute.

It is recommended that the Lines not drawn between touching elements in same components e.g. rooms option is used in the Room Manager application and therefore, by default the Lines not drawn between touching elements in same components e.g. rooms checkbox is selected.

Click Apply to create the Building by Room element. The Modify a Building by Room Element window is then displayed and the Building by Room element is displayed in the Building Applications window and in the Building Applications window.

Click Repeat to copy the Building by Room element.

Click Refresh to any modifications and display the original attributes.

Click Dismiss to discard any inputs and close the Create Building by Room window.
