Introduction to Annotation

Part of the Draw database is used to store annotation elements, that is dimensioning elements, labelling elements, and 2D drafting elements (for example, geometric primitives, symbols, and text). Refer to Draw Database Hierarchy for further information.

Dimensioning and Labelling elements are owned by Layer (LAYE) elements. Other text, symbols and graphics are owned by Notes. There are two types of Note:

• Sheet Notes (NOTEs) owned by Sheets

• View Notes (VNOTs) owned by Views.
