Conversion stage (E3D)
-
Any component description over 256 characters long will be truncated.
-
Avoid any ghost elements (primitives with null volume, panels with the wrong loop definition and so on).
-
Avoid unset spref/catref attributes although unset spref attributes are allowable for SJOI and PJOI, refer to Limitations for further information.
-
Write access to the first DESIGN DB is required, temporary elements need to be created and Savework is not required.
-
A suitable MDB with all the required catalog information should be used.
-
For best results in the piping discipline, avoid manual reconnections.
-
Check data consistencies
-
Ppoints should share the same origin and have an opposite direction.
-
Offset tolerance = 0.
-
Angle < 0.001.
-
PFIT export, POS and DRPS attributes can cause issues, refer to Macros for E3D for further information.
Conversion stage (S3D)
-
Create an empty S3D project.
-
Backup is strongly recommended.
-
Load a catalog.
-
Design load.
-
Register the generic PdmsSymbol dll, refer to S3D for further information.
Post conversion (S3D)
-
Generate a Piping.xml file.
-
Open isometric style option browser.
-
Import data file for the SymbolMap.
-
Import the Piping.xml file (merge with standard file).
-
Generate ISOS sheets to check the conversion quality.
-
Rearrange the PDBS/WBS to match up with S3D best practices.
-
Manually reconnect piping connections.
