Create Room Element

Referring to the hierarchy, the user must create a room element below an existing Level element. A room element is a ‘soft type’ which corresponds to a structural element in the Building Applications window.

To create a new Room element make sure a Level element is selected in the Building Applications window. On the BUILDING tab in the Create group, select Room from the drop-down-list to display the Create Room window.

The application automatically populates the Name field with a name based on the project or company naming rules. The user can change the name of the room element, for further information, refer to Create Building by Room Element.

By default the room level is zero with respect to the level and a height of 3000mm or 120 inches is displayed in the Top Level and Height text boxes, but the user can type or pick a new Top Level and/or Height dimension. The way in which the user can do this is identical to the ways used in Concrete Building Design.
