Intelligent Table Tab

Intelligent tables are formatted using the Intelligent Table tab. The tab displays when an intelligent table is selected.

Table group

Selection mode

Turns selection mode on and off. Selection mode allows you to select cells and invoke other table operations.

Selected cells are indicated with a green background.

Clear all

Click to remove the contents of all cells in the table.

Rows group

Insert above

Click to insert a row above the currently selected cell. If multiple cells are selected, the row is inserted above the cell at the top of the selection.

Insert below

Click to insert a row below the currently selected cell. If multiple cells are selected, the row is inserted below the cell at the bottom of the selection.

Remove row(s)

Click to remove all rows in the current cell selection.

Columns Group

Insert to the left

Click to insert a column to the left of the currently selected cell. If multiple cells are selected, the column is inserted to the left of the cell furthest to the left of the selection.

Insert to the right

Click to insert a column to the right of the currently selected cell. If multiple cells are selected, the column is inserted to the right of the cell furthest to the right of the selection.

Remove column(s)

Click to remove all columns in the current cell selection.

Cells group

Merge cells

Click to merge the currently selected cells into a single cell.

Note:
The contents of only the upper-left cell are retained. The contents of the other merged cells are deleted.

Split cell

Click to split the currently selected merged cell into multiple cells.

Note:
The contents of the cell are positioned in the upper left split cell.

Clear selected

Click to remove the contents of the selected cells.

Data group

Full regenerate

If the table is associated with a data source, click to regenerate the table.

Note:
Any data not present in the data source is overwritten. Any custom data added to the intelligent table is overwritten.

Soft regenerate

If the table is associated with a data source, click to regenerate the table.

Note:
Any data not present in the data source is retained. Any custom data added to the intelligent table is retained. Merged cells are split.

Switch data source

Click to modify the data source definition and regenerate the currently selected table. Refer to Modify Intelligent Table Data Source for further information.
