Alternative Item Codes

By default, Isodraft takes the item code from the SPCOM name. If the user requires different item codes for different clients, the user can set them in the Catalogue database as User-defined Attributes (UDAs) of the SPCOM or GPART. UDAs are described in Lexicon Command Reference. It is also possible to derive the item code for Supports from a Standard Text Attribute, Text UDA or Property of the ATTA itself rather than from its SPCOM. Refer to Isodraft command ITEMCODE for further information of how to display the item codes.
Note: If the SPCO contains a reference to GPART. The ITEMCODE will be obtained from the GPART UDA.
The following example shows part of a specification. The SPCOMs have UDAs :clienta and :clientb. Note that SPECON cannot output UDAs in tabular format, and so this example is just for illustration.

Note: ITEMCODE LENGTH LONG/SHORT has no effect on alternative item codes. Also note that any text after a delimiter character in a UDA will be stripped off (for example, ABC:123 would become ABC). Alternative item codes for bolts are set in a different way, as described in Alternative Item codes for Bolts .
