Import Idealized Model

The SAI creates an idealized model from the STD file produced in Staad Pro. The idealized model is compared with the exported idealized model. Checks can be carried out to define the differences between the idealized models, and the AVEVA E3D Design structural model can be updated accordingly.

On the Interfaces tab, in the Structures group, click Analysis Interface and select SAI Import from the drop-down menu to display the Source part of the SAI Import Form window.

Input the file path and file name for the imported STD file. For example:
C:\Users\Public\Documents\AVEVA\USERDATA\SAIFiles\outfromstd01.std

Click Go to Next Step to display the Destination part of the SAI Import Form window.

Select the of the EQUIP_SUPPORT_IM ISTRU element in the Model Explorer and click ADD CE to populate the Import ISTRU field.

The Physical Model field is automatically populated using the first reference in the IDLRFA attribute of the ISTRU element

Click Import to create the idealized model.

Click Go to Next Step to display the Compare part of the SAI Import Form window.

Select Modified on the Status column drop-down menu to filter the the comparison grid to display only modified elements.

The modified elements can be inspected in the 3D view. For example, at the bottom of the SAI Import Form window, select Modified Position from the drop-down list and click Highlight. The elements with a modified position are highlighted in the 3D view.

Select each of the modified elements in the comparison grid and click Update Selected to update the AVEVA E3D Design structural model.

Select New on the Status column drop-down menu to filter the the comparison grid to display only new elements.

The new elements can be inspected in the 3D view. For example, at the bottom of the SAI Import Form window, select New Members from the drop-down list and click Highlight. The new GENSEC elements are highlighted in the 3D view.

Select each of the new GENSEC elements in the comparison grid to view them. Click Create New Gensecs to update the AVEVA E3D Design structural model with all new GENSEC elements.

Review the AVEVA E3D Design structural model to ensure all modifications are applied correctly.
