Redspace

The redspace functionality automatically detects red space (areas taken up by design graphics) on the drawing canvas for optimal positioning of annotations. Annotations positioned on red space can be moved to the drawing canvas white space.

Note:
Annotations with the Blanking property set to Yes receive 10% of the base A-RS penalty.

The example displays an annotation positioned on the drawing red space.

When the whitespace calculation is performed with a high A-RS overlap preference, there is an increased probability that annotations will be moved to the drawing canvas white space.

The objective preferences are used as the default settings and can be overridden using individual preferences at sheet (SHEE) level using the Properties window. Refer to Properties for further information.

SHEE elements reference WOSTYL elements. (Database WOSTYL elements or the AVEVA Default WOSTYL if the WOSTYL reference is unset.) By Style is the default value, which applies the value from the WOSTYL referenced by the SHEE.
