Characters on either side of a forward slash (/) can be stacked. This is provided in particular to support Stacked Fractions. However stacking will not be limited to numeric values, alphabetic characters like a#!b will also stack to a/b
To manually force character stacking in Intelligent Text the / should be replaced by one of the following codewords:
#- |
Horizontal stacking of characters on either side. For example 9#-16 when displayed on the canvas will stack to:
#! |
Diagonal stacking of characters on either side For example 9#!16 when displayed on the canvas will stack to:
#^ |
Column stacking of characters on either side For example 9#^16 when displayed on the canvas will stack to:
Characters to stack will be prefixed or postfixed by any white space character including start/end of string. A single space will be swallowed so that, for example, 1 33#!44 A becomes 133/44A (any additional spaces are retained).
Note:
Automatic stacking of fractions when evaluating codewords in imperial units is also
possible. See Stacked Fractions Mode for Imperial Units for further information.
