AVEVA™ Unified Engineering

Representations

The IFC file format allows the transfer of different model representations in the same transfer file. Because of the software architecture of the current interface, this is not possible. Therefore, a specific representation configuration must be exported.

In AVEVA E3D Design, graphical display is controlled by several flags: drawing levels, centerline and tube flags, auto-color rules and representation. The drawing levels and flags are stored on Database (DB) elements and geometric primitives in the DB. Auto-color rules are configured on the system.

Centerline

The check box is disabled as the interface does not export line elements.

Tube

The check box is disabled as the interface does not export line elements.

Auto-colors

Defines the export of model data using a set of auto-color rules.

If the check box is selected, auto-color rules are used for the export of model data.

If the check box is not selected, auto-color rules are not used for the export of model data.

Holes

Defines the export of hole representation data.

If the check box is selected, hole representation is exported. The interface performs more complex calculations and the resultant IFC file can be significantly larger.

If the check box is not selected, hole representation is not exported.

Insu translucency

Defines the export of insulation volumes. The geometry can be transferred through the IFC file with a selected level of translucency.

Obst translucency

Defines the export of obstruction volumes. The geometry can be transferred through the IFC file with a selected level of translucency.

The example displays translucency being used to represent an access volume and an insulation volume for a valve and downstream pipe.
