Important:
Write access is required for all supports that require conversion.
Important:
All old MDS support elements are deleted after conversion.
Important:
Supports with lugs are converted from two separate supports into a single support,
this includes hangers, vessel supports and some frameworks. The support name for the
lug is removed. Drawings and reports may be different after support conversion.
Important:
Conversion of structural steelwork must be complete prior to supports conversion.
MDS Frameworks that are connected to SCTN elements are not converted.
Important:
New support element types are created for converted supports. Existing Status Control
and Data Access Control rules are not converted. The administrator is required to
set up new Status Control and Data Access Control rules for new support element types.
Important:
Converted trunnions are contained within SUPPO elements and are no longer contained
within Pipe Branch (BRAN) elements. As part of the conversion, old trunnion branches
are removed as well as inline TEE or CROSS elements on the owning branch.
Important:
Converted frameworks use the new steelwork hierarchy, for example, GENSEC elements
instead of SCTN elements. The steelwork is not updated to use the new E3D2.1™ steelwork
catalogue, update functionality is available. Refer to Convert Profile Specification for further information.
When initializing the Convert Supports functionality, a UDA check is performed to check that the new Supports elements have been added to any appropriate UDA element or referred type lists. For example, a UDA used in a support, may contain ATTA within the element list, it may need ANCI, TRANCI and/or LUANCI adding to the element list.
The checker scans each UDA in the MDB and displays the UDA checking tool window if any issues are found.

The UDA checking tool window displays error messages for UDA's that are missing from Support elements.
Right-click and select Export to Excel to save the results to an excel spreadsheet.
Important:
All UDA's in the list must be checked before supports are converted. If a UDA in the
list has not been updated to include the new Supports elements and is used on a support,
loss of data may result during the conversion process.
Click Continue to display the Convert Supports window without correcting the errors.
