Update Compare/Update Configurations for AIS Compatibility

In AVEVA Engineering 15.7.3 and AVEVA E3D Design 3.1.9, when editing configurations created in AVEVA Engineering 15.7.2 and earlier versions, or AVEVA E3D Design 3.1.8 and earlier versions, a warning is displayed to let the user know that the existing configuration settings are no longer valid. The message "Previous AIS settings are no longer valid" is displayed in Step 1 of the Compare/Update Configuration Wizard:

The DATA API of the AVEVA Integration Service (AIS) must be specified and an authentication type selected.

When a data source is selected, the Element Types and Groups are then populated and selectable.

In AIS URL, specify the URL where the data API of the AVEVA Integration Service (AIS) is located. The standard format is: https://<hostname>:<portno>.

From the Authentication type options, specify the user authentication method to be used:

• If AIS is available at on-premises, select NTLM.

• If AIS is available at on-cloud, select AVEVA Connect.

Once the AIS URL and Authentication type have been specified, click Connect. The available projects for the selected source are then listed in the Source field.

Note:
There is no option for the user to provide a WCF hostname and port while creating a new configuration.

Once the user has created a configuration, they can choose to run the configuration individually.

Clicking on the configuration shows a Configuration Summary window.

If the user wants to run the configuration as part of a group configuration, then it needs to be part of an applicable group. For more information about how to run the configuration as part of a group configuration, refer to Manage Groups.
